CIO Day 2011: Me, Myself and I 5
Information, Intelligence, Inspiration, Innovation & Interaction.
Today's CIO does not have an easy job. They need to maneuvre more subtle then ever between the desired savings of the CFO, while on the other hand the business is banging on the door. End-users and internal customers are also becoming more ‘IT-savvy', which in many cases leads to a policy of tolerance towards advancing trends such as social media, cloud computing, mobile technology and consumerization and all the risks they bring with them.
It is therefore time that the CIO starts to think and operate from within himself, using his or her own knowledge, expertise, strength and leadership. Not only to help the business as an individual, but to make the entire company ready for the new time where intelligent use of information, inspiration and innovation are the important phenomena.
The theme of the CIO Day 2011 was therefore: Me, Myself and I 5 - Information, Intelligence, Inspiration, Innovation & Interaction. On the 14th and 15th of November, the CIO has once again got mind-set and practical tools that allows her/him to gain thought leadership and translate the inspiration given to them on both days to their own organization.
Aloys Kregting, CIO DSM has been elected as CIO of the Year 2011. The jury and quantity research/assessments that has been done by The Boston Consulting Group and Qhuba have chosen him as the Most I5 Chief 2011. Chairman of the Jury HRH Bernhard van Oranje, "The CIO who has been elected as CIO of the Year is someone who is an example of the new generation of CIOs."
Together with over 850 participants from all over the world, the 7th CIO Day 2011 was this year's largest IT executives top event. Several IT professionals, visionaries, industry leaders and other hotshots have taken the centre stage on the 14th & 15th of November to enlighten and inspired you. On the 14th, the exclusive pre-conference program, the prestigious CIO VIP Diner and entertaining after diner party were on the program. Of course including the famous (CSR driven) auction CharITy, led by Christie's, Paulina Cramer! Over €29.200! has been collected by the Dutch IT-industry for Red Cross, Bartiméus and Blue Ribbon. This amount was the result of the CharITy auction.
